Ticketless Parking FAQs

1. When did the paid parking system go live?
The system went live on 5 December 2025.
2. Why has paid parking been introduced?
To manage visitor traffic and maintain consistent parking availability, especially during busy periods.
3. How does the system work?
Parking is fully ticketless and operates using Parkonic licence-plate recognition. Entry and exit are automatic, and payment is processed through Salik.
4. Do I need a Salik tag to park?
No. A Salik tag is not required for mall parking. If you do not have Salik, simply scan the QR code on parking signage or use Parkonic payment machines.
5. Where can I buy a Salik tag?
Please visit the Salik website.
6. Will I be fined if I enter without a Salik tag?
No. Mall parking is not linked to Salik toll gate penalties.
7. What are the parking rates?
F1 Weekend (5–7 December 2025):
  • 3 hours free
  • 4th hour: AED 30
  • Each additional hour: AED 20
Annual Rates (From 8 December 2025):
  • 4 hours free
  • 5th hour: AED 20
  • Each additional hour: AED 10
8. How do I pay?
Payment is automatic via Salik or through the QR code on parking signage.
9. I don't think the charge is correct. What should I do?
Contact Parkonic Support at 800-PARKONIC (72756642).
10. How can I check my parking charges?
All charges appear in your Parkonic App.
11. How is parking time calculated?
Parking duration is calculated from entry to exit using licence-plate recognition.
12. I'm visiting from another country – how do I pay?
Scan the QR code on parking signage to complete payment.
13. Are People of Determination exempt?
People of Determination exemptions for Salik toll gates do not apply to mall parking.
14. Do two-wheelers pay?
Yes. All vehicles with licence plates, including motorcycles, are charged
